Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is any discomfort, suffering or unpleasant sensation that lasts for more than 3- 6 months or beyond an expected healing time. It can also be a result of incorrect care. Chronic pain will affect each person experiencing it differently and can be made worse by environmental and social factors.

Chronic pain is more often seen in the neck, back, and conditions such as fibromyalgia. However, chronic pain can be experienced with any injury or in any region of the body. At Dutch PT our physical therapists are specialized in identifying and differentiating these types of signs and symptoms. The therapists are skilled to work with chronic pain patients to reduce their pain and restore their activity to the highest possible levels.

Chronic pain is often resistant to many medical treatments and pain medication. Often times the pain itself is treated leaving the cause to continue. Through the help of physical therapy, we can find the source of the pain and develop a treatment program designed to alleviate, self treat, and prevent your chronic pain.
